I am fascinated by the details of growth. In this forest scene, a large rock covered with lichen is nestled next to a fallen log; the mushroom has sprung up in the rich organic soil. I particularly love the leathery look of the mushroom against the rough texture of the soft pale green lichen and the forest floor.
